Em Tweedie

Getting in touch with a personal trainer can be daunting so we always aim to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.

I began my career in fitness in 1998, completing an HND and a BSc in Science and Management of Exercise and Health. During my 4 years of full-time study I also trained with the Fitness Leader of the Year 1997/98 for 2 years, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience that most personal trainers go through their entire career without.

I am also a fully qualified aerobics instructor; my working life began as a freelance instructor teaching body conditioning, circuits, step, Bodypump, aerobics and spinning classes at numerous health and fitness facilities. Once I finished my degree, I spent two years working as the Group Fitness Coordinator in Berkshire's largest health and fitness club – Pulse8 and Nirvana Spa in Sindlesham. I am currently half way through a qualification to become a Pilates Teacher.

Due to my qualifications and significant experience as a personal trainer, I was head hunted to train Formula 3 and Renault World Series motor sports' teams. My client portfolio includes Reading Football Club, Melinda Messenger, Danyl Johnson (X-Factor), the UK's former number 1 snow boarder, a member of the GB synchronised swimming team and a county level shot putter. My passion is working with people to improve their everyday lives, whether they are a TV presenter, teacher, mum doctor or business executive.

I had my gallbladder removed at the age of 21 and have since suffered with IBS, a condition that many suffer with but is little talked about. I faced a period of depression whilst I learned how to cope with the condition. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid at 28 and now at 41 years old, I have been through knee surgery, hip surgery and have dodgy wrists thanks to being hyper-mobile. So despite suffering from a health complaint or two, I am proof that it is still possible to live a healthy, active lifestyle and can help you too to overcome any issues that you might be dealing with.

My background is in dance but my passion these days lies with horses and the sport of Eventing so I attend as many events as I can when I'm not working with clients. I love the outdoors and running with my dogs.

Andy Tweedie

Our philosophy is to train smart, listen to your body and ensure that you challenge it enough so it has to adapt.

I started my career in the fitness industry as a professional rugby player with Northampton Saints RFC and later moved to France to spend a season playing for Macon. However, a long-term professional career was not meant to be, and I have dedicated my time to fitness instructing and personal training since 1998, following a 2 year BTEC National Diploma in Sports Science. Since then I have also gained YMCA and ACSM qualifications as well as a Lifetime Dynamic Training qualification.

I spent more than 7 years of my fitness career working as a senior gym instructor and personal trainer in Berkshire’s largest health and fitness club, Pulse8 and Nirvana Spa. My sports background as a rugby player means that I have significant experience of injury rehabilitation, functional fitness and sports specific training. However, I have also worked with numerous pre/post-natal clients and business executives striving to achieve that elusive work/life balance.

My expertise, industry experience and sporting background has seen my career as a personal trainer in and around the Wokingham area flourish. Over the years, I’ve worked with movie stars and TV personalities like Lenny Henry as well as sports professionals. They, as well as business professionals, CEOs, New Mums and Mums-To-Be, have appreciated my no-nonsense, straight-talking approach to exercise combined with my ability to deliver fun, innovative and highly effective workout programmes.

Now that I’ve retired from rugby, I spend my time participating in Crossfit.
